Description
Hatche's Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century, originally built with a timber frame and later raised in the 18th century. The farmhouse features early 19th-century cladding and an extension, with restoration work completed in the late 20th century. The north side of the building has an exposed frame with brick infill, while much of the lower wall is constructed in Monk bond brickwork. The south wall is made of English bond brick, with chamfered openings and brick dentil eaves. The roof is half-hipped and covered with tiles, featuring gabled dormers. The structure is a long, narrow block with a lower extension, which serves as a stable, located at the west end. The north elevation consists of one storey and an attic, with three casement windows. There is a plain door set within a gabled hood supported by rustic posts. The south elevation is regular and two storeys high, also with three casement windows and two 20th-century gabled brick porches. The stable wing has a tiled roof, brick walls on the south side, and boarded walls on the north side, with a hay-loft door located beneath a gable.
