Description
Frohams Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill, which has been encased and rebuilt, and is rendered on the ground floor. The building has a thatched roof and is two stories tall with three bays, including a crosswing at the left end that originates from the 16th century. The gable of the crosswing and the ground floor were rebuilt in the 18th century, and there is a rear outshot and 19th-century wings added to the back of the left two bays. A 19th-century porch with a hip roof, made of timber-frame and brick infill, is located to the right of the center bay. Each bay and the crosswing contain 18th-century 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are original 2, 4, and 5-light mullioned windows, although these have small 20th-century steel casements. The crosswing is blank but has a casement window in the gable. The roof is half-hipped, featuring a ridge piece and 17th-century stacks above the door and at the junction of the ridges.
