Description
Faccombe Manor is a mansion that dates from the early 18th century, with extensive additions made in a similar style in 1936. The building is constructed of brick and tile. The original front wall, which is symmetrical, has two storeys and an attic, featuring five windows. It has a hipped roof with a fully-moulded modillion eaves cornice. The walls are made of blue headers with flush red dressings, and include quoins and rubbed flat arches with keys at the ground floor. There is a projecting first floor band that rises above the keystones and merges with the plain architrave of the upper central window. The windows have stone cills and a plinth. The sashes have been altered, with the outside upper openings now filled with brickwork. The doorcase, added in 1936, is in a classical style, featuring an arched pediment and Ionic half-columns.
