Description
Staddle barn, dating from the mid-18th century, is located 15 meters north of Michelmersh Manor Farmhouse. It features a timber-frame structure that is weatherboarded and stands on 64 staddle stones, topped with an old plain tile roof. The barn is designed with five aisled bays. The front has double doors in the central bay, with additional doors opposite and one in the adjacent bay. Each end of the barn has a series of four doors stacked vertically. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, there is a queen-strut roof supported by braces to the tiebeams and aisleplates, along with some windbraces and ties extending from the tops of the walls to the posts.
