Description
The Old House is a late 18th-century building located on the north side of Odiham High Street. It is two storeys tall and features two windows. The roof is covered with red tiles and has a large shafted stack at the west end. The walls are made of red brick laid in Flemish bond, with stone coping along the parapet, bands at the first floor and above the first floor windows, stone cills, and rubbers around flat and Venetian openings. The building sits on a high plinth. The windows are three-light sashes, with a Palladian style at the ground floor, all set in exposed frames. A notable feature is the fine doorcase, which has a Doric dentilled order with a pulvinated frieze that breaks forward over fluted pilasters. This doorcase frames an arched doorway with a radiating and wreathed fanlight, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door, all accessed via stone steps.
