Description
King's Barn is a building dating from around 1780, located on the south side of Odiham High Street. It features an elegant two-storey facade with a symmetrical arrangement of three windows, complemented by a narrow one-window addition to the west that is set back slightly. The building has a red tile hipped roof with moulded and bracketed brick eaves. The walls are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, showcasing rubbed flat arches, stone cills, and a high plinth. The windows are sashes in exposed frames, with tall ground-floor windows that include folding shutters.
The entrance boasts a tall Adam-style doorcase, which includes a six-panelled door, panelled reveals, and a square fanlight with a radiating pattern. This is flanked by panelled pilasters and supported by moulded scroll brackets, leading to an entablature with a fluted frieze decorated with roundels at the centre and above the brackets. The entablature features a moulded and dentilled pediment, with the entablature breaking forward over the brackets, and is accessed by five stone steps. The west wing has an arched doorway with a fanlight and a six flush-panelled door, situated above steps.
