Description

Ford Farmhouse is an 18th-century building, situated on Ford Lane in South Warborough. It is a two-storey farmhouse with a symmetrical front facing southeast, originally featuring three windows, though the central window is now blocked. The roof is hipped and covered with red tiles. The exterior walls are of red brick in English bond, with rubbed flat arches and cement panels between the upper and lower window openings. It has three-light sash windows. The doorcase features a simple Doric Order with pilasters supporting an open pediment, framing a round-headed opening with a plain fanlight and panelled reveals. The northeast elevation has similar details, including an old doorcase with a pediment featuring dentils. The southwest elevation includes a wide arched French door with a radiating fanlight, creating an entrance to an interior staircase landing, accessed by steps. A modern projecting brick porch with a hipped tile roof has also been added.
