Description

Crofton Farmhouse is an 18th century or earlier building situated on Crofton Lane at Hill Head. The west-facing elevation is rendered on the ground floor with tile hanging above. It has an old tiled roof with half-hipped gables at each end, and a window in each gable. There are three windows on each floor, with late 18th or early 19th century casement and sash windows, some of which have been replaced. A central gabled porch fronts the building. The south facade is characterised by a brick band at the first floor level and has three windows. A modern lean-to conservatory has been added. One wing of the farmhouse is said to contain panelling and painted panels above the fireplace. The farmhouse is situated as part of a group with a granary, which is a building of local interest.
