Description

This is an 18th-century terrace of five cottages situated on Catisfield Lane. The cottages are built of red brick with grey brick headers, and a brick eaves cornice; however, the facade of number 1 has been rendered white. The roof is tiled, with five hipped gables at the rear. The cottages are two storeys high with five windows in total, though number 1 has an additional window at ground floor level. The windows are late 18th or early 19th century casements with glazing bars. Ground floor windows generally feature cambered head linings. Number 5 has a six-panelled door, while number 1 has a modern door. These cottages, along with Littlecroft and Elm Cottage, form a group of local interest, and are also considered to have group value with Meoncross Boys School and the Post Office on Fishers Hill.
