Description
Nos 44 and 46 South Street are 18th-century buildings located in Titchfield. They are constructed with grey headers and feature red brick window dressings and quoins. No 46 has a dentilled eaves cornice and an old tiled roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have five windows, which are sashes with late 19th-century glazing.
No 44 features a doorway with a reeded architrave surround and a pediment hood, leading to a six-panelled door, although the top two panels are now glazed. No 46 has a porch supported by fluted columns, topped with a pediment and frieze, and its six-panelled door may be a replacement.
Nos 40 to 46 form a group with Nos 41 to 45 and with Nos 2 to 6 Castle Street, which includes buildings of local interest.
