Description

Batchelors is a timber-framed house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It has two storeys and features irregular window arrangements. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped design that slopes down to low eaves over an outshot. The building displays exposed framing with red brick nogging, some of which is arranged in a herringbone pattern. The north end has painted flint with brick quoins, while the upper part of the building on the east side is half-timber-framed. The windows are casements, and there is a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed, set in a solid frame.
