Description

Test Cottage, dating from the mid-19th century, is located within the former enclosure of the Elms and is set back behind a flint boundary wall that is reinforced with brick bands and verticals. The cottage features a symmetrical front facing west, consisting of one storey and two windows. It has a pantile roof with decorative eaves that continue as barge boards at the ends. The walls are constructed of blue headers, with flush red quoins that merge into the plinth, and feature rubbed flat arches, including an arch above the central entrance. The end walls display red and blue bands. The windows are sash style, and there is a decorative fanlight above the five-panelled door.
