Description

Barefoots Farmhouse is a late 17th and early 18th century building. It has a symmetrical front elevation facing south, with five windows on each floor. The steep, hipped tile roof is prominent, featuring a large central chimney stack and deep, coved plaster eaves. The farmhouse is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a horizontal band marking the first floor level. The ground-floor openings have rubbed flat arches, stone sills, and plinths. Sashes are set in the reveals. A Tuscan doorway with a pediment provides access to a six-panelled door, which is topped by a fanlight. The rear of the farmhouse incorporates a gabled extension with exposed timber framing, along with more recent additions and dormers.
