Description

Poplars Farm House is an early 18th-century building with additions from the mid-19th century. It is two storeys and has an attic. The south front has three windows, with a two-window gabled wing added later on the east side. The roof is tiled and has three gabled dormers. The walls are red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with blue headers, a first-floor band, and rubbed flat arches over the ground-floor openings. A plinth is also present. This detailing is repeated in the later wing, but it includes brick-dentilled verges and lacks the first-floor band. Casement windows are found in the earlier part, while the Victorian additions feature sash windows. The rear of the house comprises three gables from the later period, executed in a good style. A modern entrance has been created at the east ends. A plain brick forecourt wall includes a small wrought-iron gate, aligned with the former entrance.
