Description

Twitts Ghyll is an L-shaped building dating back to the 16th century. Originally constructed with a timber frame and plaster infilling, the south side retains some exposed close studding. The ground floor has been refaced with red brick, featuring grey headers, while the upper portion is tile-hung. It has a tiled roof and casement windows, with a layout displaying three windows. The house is two storeys high. It is of group value, having significance in the context of the local group. Sir Austen Chamberlain resided at Twitts Ghyll.
