Description
This is a 17th-century building, originally one, now divided into Builth House, Timbers, and Builth Cottage, situated on the south side of Church Street in Rotherfield. The building has two storeys and five windows. A prominent carriage archway is located at the west end, featuring large posts with mortices for gates, which are now missing, and brick arches behind. The original timber framing is visible beneath the archway. The building's facade was subsequently refaced with red brick and grey headers on the ground floor, and tile hanging above. The roof is tiled. Casement windows are present. The east end underwent significant modernisation in the 19th century, featuring the addition of two gables. A two-storey tile-hung south wing extends to the rear, characterised by a half-hipped gable and a curved window on the first floor.
