Description
The North East Lodge gates and gate piers of Heathfield Park were designed by John Crunden for Francis Newbery in 1792. This small, square, one-storey building is constructed of ashlar stone and features wide over-hanging eaves and a hipped slate roof. The north-west front has a projecting porch with a pediment and a segmental arch that includes a keystone. On either side of the porch, there are small round-headed casement windows. The north-east front has a similar archway, which does not project, containing a round window flanked by pilasters, with a round-headed window on one side and a niche on the other. To the north-east of the Lodge, there is a pair of wrought iron gates leading to the carriage drive, set in stone piers topped with ball caps, and on each side of these gates, there is a pedestrian gate.
