Description
This is an 18th-century barn located 300 metres to the west of the farmyard at Summerford Farm. It features a timber frame with weatherboard cladding and some brickwork, topped by a hipped tiled roof that has catslides over outshut sheds on the east side and south end. The barn has seven bays and includes central opposing wagon entries. On the west side, there are small pitching doors to storage bays on either side of the wagon entry. Inside, the barn has jowelled posts, an intermediate rail between the posts in each bay, and tension braces and studs. There are raking stays to the posts on either side of the threshing floor, and it is supported by queen post trusses. Additionally, there is a cattle shed on the east side, which consists of seven open bays with timber posts. At the south end, there is a two-bay outshut with brick side walls and a central post.
