Description
The Manor House is likely a 16th-century timber-framed house that was substantially refaced in the 17th century, probably 1686, as evidenced by the dates carved into the gables. The front of the house has been faced with alternating red vitreous brick and grey headers, with a stringcourse of the same material. A moulded wooden cornice runs along the top of the façade. Tile-hanging covers the gable at each end of the front, each bearing the date 1686 and the initials J A on decorative pendants. Rectangular projections flank the centre windows on both floors, originally containing a porch on the ground floor of each wing. These projections are topped by a brick parapet, with a central tile-hung gable behind it, featuring a blocked attic window with a pediment. The roof is tiled. The house is two storeys high with five windows. The west wing retains exposed timber framing on its west wall.
