Description
30, 31, and 32 High Street is a late 16th century timber-framed building that has been refaced in the early 19th century. The ground floor is finished in red brick, while the upper part is tile hung. It features a half-hipped tiled roof with a central brick chimneystack. The building has two storeys and attics, with three windows in total. The ground floor has sash windows with 16 glazing bars, and the upper floor has horizontally sliding sash windows. There is a small 19th century shop window at the north end. Inside, the timber framing is of the small-panel type with midrails, but the internal cross partition between the two northern bays is of large-panel design. The tiebeams are set at a common level with the wallplates.
