Description

The main house at Old Buckhurst is primarily an early 20th-century building designed by Cecil Brewer. However, it incorporates portions of the earlier Sackville mansion or contemporary 16th-century structures at its southern end. The house is two storeys high and has eight windows. It is timber-framed with red brick infilling. The ground floor has been rebuilt in red brick, while the first floor oversails on a moulded bressummer supported by brackets. There is a gable with original windows, and the roof is covered with Horsham slabs. The east face is tile-hung.
