TQ 52 NW ROTHERFIELD TREBLERS ROAD (east side, off) 20/257F Jarvis Brook, Series of 4 bridges over stream and inlet to west of Rotherfield Hall

GV II

Series of 4 rustic bridges. 1897 by Francis Inigo Thomas for Lindsay Lindsay- Hogg. Rubblestone and brick. Segmental arches, the parapets with middlestone copping. The 3 bridges which cross the stream have their parapets running out- wards at the corners, and the central bridge is wider with square-sectioned piers rising above parapets. The bridge across the inlet has rusticated vous- soirs. The bridges, are part of the garden setting for Rotherfield Hall (qv), the garden being listed Grade II* in the Register of historic Parks and Gardens of Special Interest. Included for group value.
