Description

The Strand House is originally a town workhouse, now operating as a guest house. This timber-framed building was erected around 1500 and features a 17th-century chimney stack. The East wall showcases exposed timber framing with plaster infilling. The North front has a red brick ground floor and tile hanging above. The East front of the South wing is constructed from stone rubble, while the South front is of stone rubble on the ground floor only, with tile hanging above. The roof is tiled. Casement windows are present, and the building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows and one dormer.
