Description

The Entrance Gateway and Gates of Brickwall, located to the northeast of the house, were designed by Sydney Smirke for Thomas Frewen Turner around 1835 to 1845. The central carriage drive features iron gates set within rusticated red brick piers. These piers are adorned with fluted stone pilasters and cartouches, and they are topped with demi-lions rampant. On either side of the carriage drive, there are pedestrian gates flanked by smaller brick piers that are surmounted by vases. Each side also has iron railings that end in similar piers.
