Description

This is an early 15th century timber-framed farmhouse, located on Iden Wittersam Road. Originally, the house comprised a central section flanked by two projecting wings. The first floors of these wings overhang on a moulded bressummer, supported by brackets. The eaves of the central recessed section are also supported by brackets. The front facade has been plastered, and a single window bay has been added at the south end using painted brick. The rear is faced with red brick and grey headers, while the north side is weather-boarded. The roof is hipped and covered with thatch at the front and tiles at the back. Casement windows are fitted, featuring diamond-shaped or small square leaded panes; one early 19th century window is present, with two pointed lights. Inside, there is a crown post.
