Description

The Barcombe War Memorial is a First World War memorial, erected in 1920, which also commemorates the Second World War. It is made of Cornish granite and is located near the north porch of the Church of St Mary, which is a Grade II* listed building.

The memorial features a fully-enclosed wheel cross with a central boss and incised decoration on each quadrant of its front face, supported by a tall shaft. It is set into a tapered plinth that stands on a square, three-stepped base. The front (east) face of the plinth is inscribed with the words "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/ 1914-19/ (NAMES)."
