Description

This is a 15th-century timber-framed building with close-set vertical studding and plaster panels, restored in 1928. The building has a tiled roof with gable ends. It is two storeys high with an attic. The first floor overhangs the street by approximately two feet, supported by curved brackets, with exposed joist ends. The ground floor windows are early 19th-century two-light and single-light sashes with modern leaded panes. A probably early 19th-century six-panel door is at the ground floor. The first floor has two modern three-light wood mullion casements with leaded panes. A small gabled dormer window, likely 18th century, sits in the roof. Inside, a ground floor room features moulded and embattled cornices dating to around the mid-15th century, wide chamfered ceiling beams and joists. Some of the original wall framing is exposed, with plastered panels displaying a combed wavy ornament. Parts of the original roof structure remain, including a central purlin. A 17th-century wing extends to the rear of the property. The building is part of a group of listed buildings along All Saints' Street.
