Description

This is a terrace of houses at 5 to 21 Hartington Place, built around 1855 or 1860, exhibiting some late Regency style characteristics. The terrace is four stories high with a basement, and each house has three windows. The houses are stuccoed and have curved frontages. Each house features a porch with Doric columns and a round arch on three sides. The cornice of each porch is extended along the house above the ground floor windows. A stringcourse runs above the first floor, and cornices with modillions are present above the second floor. A further cornice with a parapet sits above the third floor. Victorian-style iron balconies are attached to the houses. The windows lack glazing bars. Numbers 5, 7, and 9 suffered damage during the war.
