Description
The Pavilion located 40 metres south-east of the main building at St Mark's Hospital dates from the late 19th century. It is a single-storey structure featuring hipped slate roofs and constructed from stock bricks. The main building is accompanied by lower pavilions on the north and west sides. The east elevation showcases two square brick bay windows, while the south elevation is distinguished by a pediment that includes an ornate terra cotta panel in the tympanum, dated 1896, above three vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars and arched terra cotta decorative panels above them. The building also features a stone frieze and deep coved eaves, along with a bellcote topped with an ogee cupola on the ridge line. The north elevation has a simple brick pediment above the entrance. This pavilion is included for its group value with the main building.
