Description

17 High Street is a house that has been converted into a house and restaurant. It dates from the 17th century, with a refronting and roof raising that occurred in the late 18th century. The building features a slate roof with wide overhanging eaves, painted rendered walls, and timber framing at the rear. It has an L-shaped plan, consisting of two timber-framed bays across the street frontage and two bays at right angles to the rear. The structure stands three storeys tall and includes two glazing bar sash windows. There is an early 20th-century shop front that projects from the facade, featuring a recessed central door, while the house door to the left has six raised and fielded panels.
