Description

No. 12 The Broadway is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to the 16th century and features a rendered timber frame with an old tile roof. The front has a coped parapetted gable, and there is a casement window and an end stack on the ridge at the rear. The building consists of two framed bays and has two storeys plus an attic. The shop front, added in the 20th century, includes a door on the left and a first-floor glazing bar sash window. Inside, there is a large chamfered arch brace on the first floor and wind braces in the roof, suggesting the possibility of a first-floor hall.
