Description

The Barrow Deep and The Old School are a pair of late 19th-century houses designed by G.E. Street. They are built of flint with brick quoins and horizontal bands, featuring brick tympana above the windows. The roofs are steeply pitched and tiled, with a half-hipped design and a ridge chimney located off-centre to the left. The buildings have an asymmetrical design and are one-and-a-half storeys high. A large half-hipped gable on the left side includes a two-centred arch over a casement window. A smaller half-hipped dormer, breaking the eaves to the right, features a double vertical sash window on the first floor and a three-light vertical sliding sash window on the ground floor. A ledged door and a further three-light window, both positioned under two-centred arches, are located to the right.
