Description

The Pigeonhouse is an early 17th-century dovecote, designed in an octagonal shape. It is constructed from sarsen stone and flint, featuring brick quoins. The building has a projecting plinth topped with a moulded stone, and it is capped with a hipped old tile roof that includes a ball finial and a weather cock. On the south face, there is a gabled dormer that serves as a pigeon entrance. At ground level, a small door with a moulded stone surround and a drip mould provides access. Inside, the dovecote contains nest boxes and a moveable ladder.
