Church. 1839 with alterations by Sir Ninian Comper after 1904. Grey vitrified brick with stone dressings; and slate roof. West tower, 3 bay nave, transepts, chancel, north-east vestry and south porch. Lancet style. 3 stage tower with parapet and corner pinnacles. Triple lancet bell chamber openings and clock. Windows in deep reveals. Vaulted porch. Coped verges to roof with kneelers. East window by Comper with depressed arch and panel tracery. Interior. C17 Dutch chandelier. Other fittings by Comper: 2 oak kneeling desks, pews, alabaster reredos, portland stone font and wrought iron chancel screen. South transept fitted out by Comper as a memorial chapel. East window and other glass by Comper. Mainly of interest for the Comper fittings.
