Description
The Church of St Peter, built between 1845 and 1846 by O. B. Carter, is designed in a Neo-Norman style. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features a slate roof. The church has a polyconal apse and a south porch. A north-west tower, inspired by a design from Sompting in Sussex, includes a four-gabled Rhenish top. The six-bay nave is characterized by shallow buttresses that separate each bay and large round-framed windows. Inside, the church boasts a hammerbeam type roof, a wooden west gallery supported by columns, and a Neo-Norman font and pulpit.
