Description
Ivy Farmhouse is a late 18th century casing of a mid-17th century building, formerly known as Ivy Cottage. The structure has two storeys and an attic, constructed from red and silver-grey brick on a rendered flint plinth. There is a string course at the first floor level and an old tiled roof. A central square chimney, likely dating from around 1650 or possibly older, features a corbelled head. The building has three bays with modern glazing bar sash windows. The central door, which is modern, has a segmental head and is set in a plain frame. A 19th-century trellis leads to the entrance, supported by cast-iron panel standards, with a post and lintel structure and weatherboarded end facing the street. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace and curved collars supporting the roof trusses. The rear of the house is built in a T-plan with brick and flint.
