Description
The building to the east of South House at Reading School dates from the 1880s and is likely designed by Charles Smith. It is a small, one-and-a-half storey structure made of red brick, featuring three courses of grey chequer bands and tiled roofs with fishscale patterns. The building has a gabled cross wing to the east, which includes chimneys and flanking Gothic windows that resemble those of the larger school. To the west, there are large hipped dormers. The façade includes three lancet windows with roll moulding at the corners of the reveals. There are steps leading down to a central doorway on the western side, which retains its original strap hinges.
