Description
Regent Place is a terrace block located on Caversham Road, dated 1847. It consists of three storeys and a basement, with slight breaks at the ends. The building is constructed of red brick with a stucco basement, featuring a stucco cornice and a high parapet with panels at the breaks. The facade is arranged in a 1:5:1 bay configuration, with tripartite glazing bar sash windows that have brackets at the cills and stucco architraves. The second floor has plain stucco raised surrounds. The end bays include a frieze and cornice above the ground and first floor windows. Number 47 has been altered with modern casements. Access to the properties is via steps leading to two-panel doors that have moulded architraves and cornices. Numbers 47 to 53 retain trefoil-headed railings with heavier standards. A stucco date panel in the center is inscribed "Regent Place MDCCCXLVII". The roof is hidden and covered with slate.
