Description
This is a bank, built in 1876. It is constructed of ashlar and has a concealed roof with stone corniced stacks positioned on the line of the flanking pilasters. The building is three stories high and has four bays. The design is Italianate in style.
The bays are divided on each floor by Doric rusticated pilasters, with wider pilasters flanking them. On the left side, two stone steps lead up to a two-leaf, four-panelled door, accompanied by a transom and fanlight. To the right are three tall round-headed windows, each set under a round arch with panelled spandrels and diamond faceted keystones. These windows also have panelled stone aprons, a frieze, and a cornice. A sill band is present at the first floor level. Four sash windows are set within moulded architraves featuring console keystones, a dentil cornice. Another sill band at the second floor level breaks over the pilasters. Four sash windows are set in plain architraves with keystones, a frieze and a cornice. The building features a panelled main frieze and projecting moulded eaves with modillions. The interior remains unexamined.
