Description
The Old Rectory is a villa built around 1825, featuring a stucco exterior and a hipped Welsh slate roof with rendered stacks on both sides. The building has two storeys, an attic at the rear, and three bays, with the center bay projecting. Facing Havant Road, the central bay includes a two-leaf margin glazed French casement set within a shallow bow, which is adorned with a projecting trellised verandah that has a tented roof, cornice, and blocking course with rounded terminal caps. On either side of the central bay, there are 12-pane sash windows, each located in round-headed recesses with wreath ornamentation in the tympanum. The first floor features three 12-pane sashes beneath projecting bracketed eaves, and the central bay has a pediment.
On the right side of the building, which is six bays wide, there are two blinded windows followed by a six-panelled door with a radial glazed fanlight set under a segmental arch. This door is sheltered by an open projecting porch with segmented arches, pilasters, square columns, a cornice, and a blocking course. To the right, there are two more 12-pane sashes. The left side also has an entrance with a segmental headed porch. The interior has not been inspected.
