Description

The White Swan Public House is a public house built around 1900 by A.H. Bone. It features a timber frame with plaster infill, flint, and ashlar, topped by a steep pitched plain tiled roof with brick stacks on the left and center. The building is designed in a Neo-Tudor Jacobean style and has two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays with a 2:2:2 configuration.

At the center, there is a two-leaf door, with each leaf having four shaped raised panels and an upper panel with leaded lights. On the far left and right, there are similar single doors, each with seven shaped raised panels. Each of the three entrances is flanked by male and female figures, with Ionic volutes above their heads supporting brackets to carved pediments; the center pediment is segmental.

To the left and right of the center entrance are three-light stone mullion and transomed casements with leaded lights, while a small stone transomed casement is located on the far left. The wall below the window sills is faced with flint and features ashlar bands and a low stone plinth. The jettied timber-framed first floor has six timber mullion and transomed casements with diamond pattern leaded lights. The roof features three gabled dormers, each with ornate bargeboards; the outer dormers have two-light timber lattice casements with a single light in the center.
