Description
Number 50 on High Street is a house dating from the late 17th century. It has three bays and is two storeys high plus an attic. The exterior is made of coursed rubblestone and features an old tile roof. The gables are coped and have small gablets at the feet, along with fluted kneelers. There are brick stacks at the ends resting on stone bases. The outer bays have gabled dormers, and the first floor has triple casements. On the ground floor, the left side has a 19th-century five-pane box sash window, the central section features a six-panel door with panelled architraves and a flat hood, and the right side has an early 18th-century three-pane sash window with thick glazing bars and a box frame with a segmental head. Inside, there are 17th-century turned balusters on the stairs leading to the attic.
