Description

This house comprises two builds on the east side of High Street, Stoke Goldington. The right-hand portion dates to the early 18th century and has three bays, constructed of colourwashed rubble stone, with a front elevation to the street of a single bay. A mid-19th century wing was added to the left, rising to three storeys and featuring a hipped roof. Both sections now have modern concrete interlocking tile roofs. The older section has paired leaded casement windows, with the central doorway replaced by a window. It has end chimney stacks. The left-hand wing incorporates gauged brick flat arches over its barred sash windows. The left flank elevation displays three bays, with sash windows and a pilastered and pedimented doorcase. Reset date plaques reading '1639', '1793' and '1840' are visible, with the latter likely marking the date of the left-hand wing's construction.
