Description

Tyringham Bridge is a Grade I listed bridge over the River Great Ouse, built in 1793 by the architect John Soane. It features a single segmental arch made of ashlar stone, with a rusticated archway and a wide string course at road level. The bridge has a panelled segmental parapet with coping. At each end of the arch, the abutments slightly project and include semicircular headed niches. The plain approach walls on either side of the river also have similar parapets. This structure is recognized as an ancient monument.
