Description
The Wharf House is a house dating from the late 18th century, originally built as an inn on the bank of the canal. It is constructed from rubble stone, with some parts colourwashed, and features an old tile roof with brick chimneys on either side. The building has two storeys facing the canal and three storeys on the lower ground to the north, with an attic in the roof. The south front has three bays, with four-pane wide upper floor sash windows and altered sashes flanking a central door on the ground floor. There are two-light attic windows in the gables, and the north front has irregular openings. A shallow roofed lean-to is attached to the west gable.
