Description

'2MS Series No.1' is a welded steel sculpture created in 1970 by Bernard Schottlander, located in the grounds of Sherwood House, now known as Challenge House. This abstract piece, made of welded mild steel and painted bright red, measures approximately 8.4 meters in length. It features two trapezoidal forms with undulating profiles, with the upper form turned at 90 degrees, balanced against each other and touching at only a single point. The weld marks have been removed to create a seamless appearance. The sculpture is signed 'BS / 1970' and does not have a plinth, standing directly in the landscape.
