Description
3B Series No.1 is a welded steel sculpture created in 1968 by Bernard Schottlander. It is located in the courtyard in front of the Rootes Residential Building at the University of Warwick in Coventry.
This geometric sculpture is made of welded mild steel and is painted bright red. It stands approximately 2.6 meters high, 4.8 meters wide, and 2.5 meters deep. The piece consists of three rectangular pillars of varying heights that interact with three differently sized hollow rings. The weld marks have been removed, resulting in a seamless appearance. The sculpture does not have a plinth and is positioned directly on the ground.
