Description

Mile post located at the front of number 32 The Forge, dating from around 1825, was created for the Newport Pagnell to Woburn turnpike Trust. This mile post is made of cast iron and has a triangular section that is open at the back. The triangular front slopes back and up to a segmental-headed back-plate. It features raised cast lettering that reads "LONDON / 50" at the top, with "NEWPORT" on the left and "WOBURN / 8" on the right.
