Description
Folly Farmhouse, formerly known as Hales Folly, is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century that was refronted in 1751, as indicated by a stone tablet. The building has three bays and three storeys. The south front features chequer brickwork with a diaper pattern, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubblestone, with a two-storey rear wing. The roofs are covered with slate.
The windows are segmental-headed and have stone key blocks. The second floor has two-light small paned casements, while the ground and first floors feature larger three-light casements. The entrance door is off-centre and is accessed via a trellis porch, with a blank window recess above that contains the date plaque. The ground floor has three windows and a door, the first floor has three windows and a blank window, and the second floor has three windows only.
