Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church located on High Street in Allhallows. It dates from the 12th to the 15th centuries and was restored between 1886 and 1891 by Ewan Christian. The church is constructed of flint and stone with a lead roof. It features a west tower, a nave with north and south aisles, a south porch, and a chancel. The west end of the nave and the south arcade are from the 12th century, while the north arcade is early 13th century. The chancel arch is wide and from the 14th century, and the clerestory to the nave is from the 15th century. The chancel was almost entirely rebuilt by Christian, who also added the south porch.
Inside, the north arcade has round piers, while the south arcade has octagonal piers with crude scalloped capitals. Notable fittings include a moulded south interior doorway with a contemporary oak door, a 14th-century chancel screen, an 18th-century pulpit with a tester, and a box pew that has been reset in the north-west corner of the south aisle.
